Gardens by the Bay is a 21st-century botanic garden that uses striking architecture to lure people to Singapore; the place "captures the essence of Singapore as the premier tropical Garden City with the perfect environment in which to live and work," according to official literature. The competition-winning masterplan and design by UK landscape architects Grant Associates features eighteeen Supertrees, two Cooled Conservatories (designed with Wilkinson Eyre Architects and recipients of the WAF 2012 Building of the Year), and Themed Gardens.
