Architectural photographer and filmmaker Hans Georg Esch (aka HGEsch) presents a short film with video footage of numerous buildings in Europe and Asia designed by Tadao Ando, from the UNESCO Meditation Space in Paris to the Chichu Art Museum in Naoshima, Japan.
Japanese architect Tadao Ando is known for minimalist spaces rendered in concrete and glass, commissioned by museums and other cultural institutions. Ando's buildings are photogenic, thanks in part to the high standards of the concrete craftsmanship and the play of light across their surfaces, but video footage allows viewers to "move" through the spaces and gain a greater understanding of how the buildings merge into their contexts. Watch the pleasant, beautifully shot five-minute film below or on the office profile of HGEsch Photography.
