In a fifteen-minute TED Talk from February 2016, Michael Murphy, co-founder of Boston's MASS Design Group, presents some of their "lo-fab" projects that embody "a holistic approach that produces community as well as (beautiful) buildings."
Murphy's highly personal talk focuses primarily on two of his firm's projects: the Butaro District Hospital in Rwanda and the Memorial to Peace and Justice planned for Montgomery, Alabama. Last year we presented the GHESKIO Cholera Treatment Center in Haiti as a Building of the Week. It's clear from that and other MASS Design Group projects that Murphy and his colleagues walk the walk as much as they talk the talk.
