Architectural Review has named the winners of its 2015 AR House Awards, with David Chipperfield's Fayland House, "a radical new take on the the English country house," coming out on top.
The awards, which serve to select the best single-family residential architecture completed in the last five years, was juried by Adam Caruso, Sofia von Ellrichshausen and Pippo Ciorra, with AR Editor Christine Murray serving as chair. Their comments on the awards process, its winner and its runners-up can be seen in the video at bottom, while a visual tour of the Fayland House is below.
In addition to Chipperfield's award, Ryo Matsui’s "mix of old and new" in the Rebirth House was highly commended, and Dekleva Gregorič’s Compact Karst House was commended "for putting traditional methods to fresh purpose."
