The new reception building at Saurierpark (Dinosaur Park) in Bautzen, Germany, was designed by Hamburg's rimpf ARCHITEKTUR to resemble mitosis.
The idea of of expressing primordial cell division as the origin of life won architect Stefan Rimpf's firm the competition for the building in 2012. The completed building, which is covered with ETFE pillows, was found at German-Architects, where it was last week's Building of the Week. Head to German-Architects to see more of rimpf ARCHITEKTUR's "Mitomuseum" and read about it (in German).
