It was 20 years ago this spring that the demolition of Kowloon Walled City near Hong Kong's former Kai Tak Airport began. On this anniversary, the South China Morning Post publishes a feature accompanied by an inforgraphic that highlights the place's formal structure, evolution, and staggering number of people living in such a small area. Pictured is a detailed section showing the rooms, alleys, balconies, and rooftops that comprised the place of lawlessness. A park now sits on the site; the antithesis of what was once one of the densest places on earth.
