On March 11 the 2014 Venice Biennale curator Rem Koolhaas expanded upon the theme of Fundamentals and its three interlocking exhibitions: Absorbing Modernity 1914-2014, Elements of Architecture and Monditalia.
On March 11 the 2014 Venice Biennale curator Rem Koolhaas expanded upon the theme of Fundamentals and its three interlocking exhibitions: Absorbing Modernity 1914-2014, Elements of Architecture and Monditalia. The latter will occupy the impressive Arsenale building when the Biennale opens to the public on June 7, running until November 23. Italy is the theme that will tie the typically individual episodes of the long building into a single narrative, physically connected by the Tabula Peutingeriana, "a 5th Century map of Italy as the core of Roman Empire, that is still entirely relevant," according to Koolhaas.
