The Victoria & Albert Museum has announced it will be opening V&A Dundee in Scotland on Saturday 15 September 2018. Accompanying the announcement were some photographs of the Kengo Kuma-designed building.
Earlier this month we included the V&A Dundee by Kengo Kuma & Associates in our list of 18 notable buildings set to open in 2018. The most notable aspects of Kuma's competition-winning design from 2010 are its position on the banks of the River Tay, its faceted massing (split in the middle to frame views of the river from the city), and the horizontal concrete planks that cover most of the exterior. These photos give a glimpse of the these qualities, especially the last, whose connections are visible in the last photo.
