Wendy is the competition-winning design by New York-based architects Matthias Hollwich and Marc Kushner (HWKN). The exploding blue form trapped in scaffolding is slathered in a titania nanofilm that neutralizes airborne pollutants. By maximizing the surface area of the PVC fabric, the architects contend Wendy will clean the air on par with taking 260 cars off the road. See our "Insight" interview with MoMA curator Pedro Gadanho for more information on the installation.
