The Itzling local supply center in the north of Salzburg forms a striking urban gateway to the city and sets an architectural mark in the urban space. Thanks to its dynamic shape and the rotation of the building in the street alignments, the building fits into the cityscape and at the same time creates a striking eye-catcher.

The project, which arose from an architectural competition organized by the Raiffeisen Association, which was won by architect Johannes Schallhammer in collaboration with the Lechner & Lechner architectural firm, operates on several levels: at street level, the almost 200 meter long glass facade on Raiffeisenstrasse reflects the dynamics of the traffic space and connects the urban one Surroundings with the building. In addition, a publicly accessible landscape terrace on the first floor offers a green retreat, which, thanks to 40 trees and 2,000 additional plants, becomes a green oasis in the middle of the commercial area. This public roof park also connects the building entrances and the incoming pedestrian and cycle paths, creating a direct connection to the neighboring Goethesiedlung.

The three office floors above, which are characterized by three-dimensionally tilted facades, reinforce the dynamic effect of the building and define the lines of sight from the surrounding streets. The high-quality choice of materials and the fine detailing of the facades emphasize the external appearance of the building.

The building's underground car park offers sufficient parking spaces, although all car parking spaces - apart from a few barrier-free ones - disappear underground, so that the urban open space is reserved exclusively for people. There are 250 parking spaces at the building entrances for cyclists. The shops at street level cover the basic supplies of the surrounding residential areas, the Techno-Z and the adjacent offices, thus ensuring daily needs in the north of the state capital.

The project was realized by the Schallhammer Scheicher Lechner architectural group and, thanks to the terraced structure of the building, fits seamlessly into the topography of the surrounding area, making it an integral part of the urban living space.
