Tisch Center at Essex Crossing

 Back to Projects list
Location
New York, NY
Year
2018

The Joan H. & Preston Robert Tisch Center provides vital healthcare resources to the Lower East Side. This new state-of-the-art outpatient facility occupies the lower three stories of a mixed-used building, The Goldin, which Dattner Architects also designed. A cornerstone of the Essex Crossing development, the award-winning building has been recognized for addressing the critical issues of health + housing that are prerequisites for community and individual wellness.

Our work began with programming, test-fits, and planning. Working closely with our academic medical center clients, we explored various clinical care configurations within the 42,000 sf space. The final configuration features an Ambulatory Surgery Center, including four Class C Operating Rooms and an on-site Sterilization Facility, or Central Sterile. The facility also includes a Physical Therapy and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation practice, Gastroenterology Care with procedure rooms, and two family practices.
