Location

Year
2009

A Livable Arch – In the light of Mexico 200th anniversary of the Independence and 100th anniversary of the Revolution we face the need of reinvent the city in order to preserve it, not because economy, social or politic issues but due environmental degradation.

Mexico response is a landmark on a very unique site as a symbol of modernity and bond between Mexicans and with the earth.

Our proposal celebrates both historic milestones and brings to light a new city, living in harmony with nature for the benefit of its citizens.

A monument that show our past centennials and forecast future ones celebrating city and nature.

The Proposal
To build a monumental arch that can celebrate nature without affecting it, a landmark that can organize the Reforma Avenue.

We don’t think of the monument as an object, is more a strategy were we needed to study it from different angles in order to design it. Our approach to it is to reflect its memorial nature acknowledging the outstanding location where is going to be placed. We take both premises and generate one purpose in time and space.
