Visitors are welcomed with an embracing sweep upon entering the reception and waiting areas. Carefully coordinated colours enable a distinction between the main areas and adjoining spaces, providing orientation and a clear structure. Featuring gold (as the colour of sparkling wine and champagne) and shades of brown (representing the oak casks), light and transparency characterise the space. The bubbles in the sparkling wine and the casks’ rounded design serve as form references for the design concept.
Behind the reception desk made from roughly sawn oak is an alcove. There are plans to replace the rear wall with glass at a later date to draw visitors’ attention to the sales area located directly behind this.
Besides the large ceiling light with a diameter of 2.3 m and the golden wall designed by Markus Wasse, the waiting area also features a relief wall with an integrated flat screen television showing the corporate film. On closer inspection, the individual elements more or less replicate the outer contours of a champagne bottle. A brass pilaster strip provides further accentuation of the relief wall and also runs along the front of the reception desk where it is complemented with a brass logo embedded in the front of the reception counter.
