Mads Bjørn Hansen formed in 2006 Praksis with architect Mette Tony. The studio is located in the field amounts relative few architectural firms, where the projects are formed by subdued and sensitive architectural approach to place and context. Despite of the company’s relatively short life, Mads Bjørn and Mette Tony received several awards and accolades, including the Eckersberg Medal in 2008, and twice times shortlisted for the Mies van der Rohe Award.
Immediately after graduating from the Art Academy Mads Bjørn Hansen is winning the international competition for a new cultural center in Næstved, DK. Once completed in 2002 the building was short listed for the European Architecture Prize Mies van der Rohe Award. Mads Bjørn Hansen has acquired experience from several renowned architects, including architect Peter Zumthor, Switzerland. Mads Bjørn Hansen also holds several important positions, including examiner at the Danish architect schools, professional judge at competitions, and as a member of Royal Academy Jury.
Mette Tony

Mette Tony is, along with Mads Bjørn Hansen, founder of studio Praksis. Mette Tony and Mads Bjørn Hansen works closely on all projects through all stages, from initial design to planning and final completion. Mette has experience as project manager and competition liable at one of Copenhagen larger architecture offices. Mette carries several positions of trust, including the role as examiner at the Danish architect schools and as professional judge at competitions and membership of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - Architects board 2008 – 11. Mette Tony has also been nominated as member of the Danish arts society (Arts Foundation Architecture Committee) and exhibited at the Charlotte’s Spring Exhibition in Copenhagen.
