Trade Fair Scenario as an atmospheric interpretation of the company's corporate philosophy. The innovative approach of the client is mirrored in the modern design and the applied technologies and materials.
'atmosphere' was conceived as a metaphor for Autostadt Wolfsburg. The trade fair scenario for the 2001 IAA in Frankfurt and the 2002 ITB in Berlin as well as the accompanying print media presented the qualities of the Autostadt in the form of a special place delivering highest quality service, a human touch, openness and harmony. 'atmosphere' was thus not a copy of the real venue but an atmospheric interpretation of the corporate philosophy. A white gauze membrane defined the trade fair stand as a sphere in its own right while allowing to view the exterior and interior in relation to one another. Behind the semitransparent membrane the complex branches of an expansive textile structure spread out through the interior space. Two differently designed lounges invited visitors to stay a while, being places of arrival and relaxation as well as of communication and encounter. Slowly changing light shows, fragrance arrangements and three-dimensional sound effects lent this place of deceleration a unique mood.
