The chalet is the traditional type of house in the Alpine region. Once used as cattle herders’ huts, the buildings have undergone a grand transformation. Today they are often used as luxurious holiday and weekend homes. Despite this, chalets have lost none of their authentic charm, as wood and natural stone still dominate as building materials. This combination of the traditional with lots of glass and state-of-the-art technology creates a gorgeous ambience: cosy, luxurious, and with a special sophistication.
In creating this chalet in Verbier, the architects at Comina Architecture were guided by the region’s slogans: “life without barriers” and “the difference is in the detail”. These considerations manifest perfectly in the wellness area. Here, Alpine chic meets an excellent spa ambience with a special twist.
Large panorama windows provide plenty of light, and the materials used create a special homeliness. But there is one highlight that only reveals itself at the touch of a button: Since the windows are HIRT kinetics retractable walls, they can be silently lowered to let the interior and exterior merge together. This way, the pool and terrace combine to form a unique relaxation area. Here, you can enjoy the wonderful mountain panorama of Verbier with all your senses and in any season.
HIRT moving architecture wants to bring nature back into everyday life. That is why the engineers at HIRT are thinking architecture in completely new ways. What was once static now becomes dynamic. The effects are as surprising as they are touching: Massive walls and windows suddenly disappear as if by magic, dimensions change in wonderful ways – and an unprecedented freedom emerges as inside and outside become one. Let the possibilities of HIRT moving architecture® inspire you. Get to know a new sense to life when architecture moves and experience nature with all your senses.
