This low-budget project is a social housing complex in Graz that set out to achieve maximum living quality and creative expression with a minimum of resources and by applying a systematic building organisation.
A flexible floor plan and the ability to add or subtract additional spaces enable a variety of different apartment typologies. This ensures creative diversity and a correspondingly interesting outward appearance despite the systematically optimised structure of the building.
The clear structure of the building and the simplicity of the volumes allow for an extremely modular system that offers a high degree of individuality and diversity through the combination, subtraction or addition of spaces. With this system, 40 different floor plan types can be generated, meaning great flexibility in the planning phase.
