A detached house planned in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. The site has two railroad tracks running nearby, and the plan called for soundproofing while still being open. The LDK, which is the most soundproofed area in the house, is surrounded by water, storage, and private rooms, and the LDK fits inside the water, storage, and private room spaces. The space between the private rooms functions as an inner terrace, which amplifies the use of the private rooms and the LDK as a blank space, while the glass doors can be closed or opened, bringing light into the LDK and creating a sense of openness. The LDK is enclosed in two levels to improve thermal insulation performance and ensure a comfortable thermal environment while blocking out sound. The LDK space, surrounded by all the rooms, is a rich space where one can always feel the presence of family members and maintain an open yet comfortable environment, while solving the problem of sound.
