A suspenseful, attractive residential building with specific apartments, never before built in Basel, has been created at the corner plot of Meret Oppenheim-Strasse and Margarethenstrasse next to the Hotel IBIS.
With a ceiling height of more than four meters in some of these apartments, the main theme features the wide view across the track area of the SBB railway station. The total of sixteen apartments will be offered for rent to tenants by the building client. With 2.5 to 4.5 rooms, these rental apartments range from 60m2 to 130 m2 in size. The ground floor will be reserved for commercial or gastronomical use. As permitted by respective zoning, the building includes a total of five stories plus an additional attic level. Construction work including the demolition of the Beschle bakery will begin in summer 2015 and the apartments will be ready to rent by the beginning of 2019.
