15 hectares of land adjacent to the River Torrens in Adelaide are being developed as a world-class sustainable housing development. The realization of Lochiel Park is a progressive demonstration of environmental best practice in soil, water, energy and recycling together with the preservation and restoration of the natural environment.
Two thirds of the site is protected as the Lochiel Park Parklands and includes urban forests, wetlands, community gardens, butterfly gardens, local species edible gardens, fruiting trees, recreational open space, play zones, fitness trails, display gardens, education centre, composting toilet, public art and interpretation.
