The "Neue Mitte" quarter is a 50-hectare development and transformation area extending between the residential areas of Lucerne, Kriens and Horw and represents one of the last large development reserves in the Lucerne region. In line with the Luzern Plus municipality association, the area is to be developed as a mixed neighborhood with 5,000 residents, 5,000 jobs, a campus, and leisure and recreation facilities.
In order to manage the development in a sustainable and long-term way, sa_partners propose a stable key element - the backbone - consisting of main connecting axes and public spaces and using the landscape as an important network.
