A green pattern is laid out like a big carpet over all edges and faces of the roof. An extensiv roof greening acts as ground layer, intensive roof gree¬ning areas add coloured marks to the pattern. The topography of the site drops from the north-west to the south-east corner. The main axis follows the same direction, visitor´s way passes along the roof, their view is led over the roofscape and the hilly landscape in the background. So the roof seems to be a starting point of landscape. The roof provides an imposing panorama of the area.
Design - initial point:
The idea was to build up a relation with the hilly landscape in the background. So the the roof sur¬face is designed as an abstraction of landscape.
To create that intended artificial landscape GTL used cut-outs of bird´s eye views.
