It is a road station located in the center city center of Fuchu-shi, Hiroshima Prefecture, famous as the production center of Fuchu furniture. We believe that not only the role of tourism bases but also roles as familiar living bases to be used by citizens are necessary. Then the building is divided into scales according to the surrounding environment, necessary functions at the road station, and outdoor and semi-outdoor space is provided throughout. It is a plan that creates bustle with a group of small places. In addition, in order to make Fuchu furniture stand out, the building consists of furniture scale structure and light wooden roof. By using a solid steel frame pillar of 70 x 50 mm, a beam of 50 x 50 mm chord material and a lattice made of 22 x 30 mm lattice, and placing a 60 x 120 mm wooden beam on it, All the components are furniture scale. By sharing the structure and the roof in each building, the required cross section can be minimized and rainwater can be treated integraly. Moreover, The wooden roof also plays a role as a device to create a comfortable environment by raising this roof and opening a gap, as natural light is taken in indoors, the wind escapes.
