A building was erected for a shoppingcenter at the entrance to the spa town of Bad Liebenzell on a side running parallel with the road. Designed on a basic square ground plan with a continuous rooflight on the side facing the road, the building forms a decisive urban boundary. On the side facing the river the building inclines outwards along its full length. Fully faced in clinker brick, it gives the impression of a compact mass. Only the entrance area on the road stands out with a canopy roof. The cubic volume is reduced to the bare essential, lending a calm, timeless quality to the heterogeneous periphery of the town.
