Project in collaboration with Marc Armengol. Commission to revitalize one of the best Terrassa listed buildings; La Masia Freixa, Lluis Moncunill work. That’s today in a need of renewal state.
Chef Carles Tejedor, 2 Michelin stars, multi-tasking human, professor at Harvard with Ferran Adrià and terrassa-born-idol. We got the commission for a Food-LaB/restaurant which will be a place where they will share knowledge and new concepts will be discovered. A 'brain' that will navigate between the centenary history of the building, and avant-garde concepts resulting from the hybridizing cuisine of the grandmother navigating to chemical investigations of high tech cuisine. Carlos is pure energy, you just have to stand next to him and get carried away... He spreads and seduces with his tempos and his food-mental elaborations transmitted in real time. Carlos is essence and power. And he cannot at any time stop moving his hands, his pampered instrument. His point of contact between the virtual and the virgin or elaborated element he’s about to manipulate.
Parallel to the restaurant and the laboratory, located inside the existing building. We proposed to build a new urban icon. An element located also inside the parc, that feed’s it’s concept behind the idea of a tree. In this case, a high-tech tree, made with local technology. The tree will serve as a full functions revitalization: Electricity, Air, Wifi, bluetooth, ...
