This building is a weekend residence located in Tateyama, the southern tip of the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture. Located on a hilly area, it overlooks the beautiful sea in the distance. On the other side, you can see a mountain full of greenery.
The layout is long perpendicular to the sea-to-mountain axis to maximize sea and mountain views. The intention was to create a semi-external buffer zone to connect the outside and the inside.
The louvers that can be opened and closed on the outer skin can be opened and closed to control the amount of sunlight and the view, and create a soft boundary that allows you to adjust the sense of distance from nature. In addition, the shadows of the rich louver pattern are created inside, and it is also a mechanism to enjoy the slow change of time on the weekend.
