On the first two days of WAF architects presented their shortlisted projects to juries in various typological categories – thirty total – that were broadly split into Completed Buildings and Future Projects. The winners in each category presented once again on day three, this time to the so-called Super-juries, whose members are listed below alongside the relevant winners. Winners of the ninth annual awards were announced at the WAF Gala held last night at the Postbahnhof, Wilhelm Tuckermann’s Gothic masterpiece in the heart of Berlin.

Lastly, Arcaid Images' Architectural Photographer of the Year Award was given to Matt Emmett for his photo (at top) of the Covered Reservoir, Finsbury Park, London, which was designed and built by East London Waterworks in 1868. The winner was determined by public vote: visitors to WAF were able to vote for their favorite from the twenty shortlisted photos on display at the Sto stand.

*Technically, the Interior of the Year is part of the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors, which is now in its fifth year of running concurrently with WAF.
