A link between the baroque and the modern day, the landscape and the man-made.
There are many boulders scattered across the area around Schindellegi. Drawing on the rock as a religious symbol, we selected three erratic blocks from the Rhine valley and used them to make the altar, ambo and baptismal font. Smooth, polished surfaces meet raw, natural stone in the design, developing the baroque interplay of organic and geometric forms. However, while the baroque originally sought a kind of antithesis to nature, our concept tames true nature and transforms it into geometry. Seats, a cross and candlesticks in simple shapes complement the liturgical furnishings. The redesigned choir room of the neo-baroque church is now entirely shaped by the contrast between jubilant abundance and quiet simplicity.
