“Experience Microsoft in new ways” – with this aspiration Microsoft is opening new communication channels in the heart of Berlin.
On the boulevard Unter den Linden the first public Microsoft Center worldwide was opened on 3000 sqm - a space for networking and discussion between customers, media, politics and society.
The “digital eatery” is the heart of the new location and the first public point of contact with the brand Microsoft. Here the organization sees itself as “host and meeting point for the digital society” and invites you to “test its products in a relaxed atmosphere” says Henrik Tesch, director of political and social engagement for Microsoft Germany.
With its unique combination of cafe and showroom the digital lifestyle consumer lounge invites visitors to experience and test hardware, software and services. Customers have access to the complete range of Microsoft products which they can get to know and try out without any pressure to purchase. Concrete scenarios ease the access to the broad range of subject areas and show the advantages of networking across devices. To facilitate this the “digital eatery” in devided into different spheres such as ”at home”, “on the go”, “in the office” and “music lounge”. Staff are at hand to answer any product related questions and also as a direct personal point of contact.
As well as the digital surroundings visitors to the “digital eatery” can also expect fresh modern cuisine using high quality products. All dishes are prepared in-house using regional and season produce.
The communications agency FTWild (overall concept and project management) supervised the architectural concept and the interior design together with COORDINATION. Art+Com was responsible for the media installations.
This project has been honoured with the Iconic Awards Winner ’15 which is handed out by the German Design Council.
