Created by Wallpaper* magazine founder Tyler Brûlé in 2007, Monocle is a sophisticated current affairs magazine with an eye for global culture and design.
Since 2011, the brand has been “on air” with its radio program Monocle24 and offers exciting content around the clock. With shops and cafes in London, Toronto, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Meran and Zurich, the Monocle world has also successfully expanded into retail and gastronomy.
MACH designed and planned Switzerland‘s first Monocle Cafe with integrated kiosk and shop in Zurich. Inspired by the location in the sophisticated Seefeld quarter – where MACH founder David Marquardt grew up – and the building from the 1960s, MACH created a new welcoming destination. Whether for a morning coffee or an after-work cocktail, you now meet at the marble bar or under the shady awnings – both dark green like the house facade.
Behind a large bronze mirror, another world extends: the Monocle offices with meeting rooms and the studio for Radio Monocle24 are also on site.
